Parent Agreement
As a parent or guardian of a participant in Barrens Travel Soccer Club (BTSC), I acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Purpose and Compliance
1.1. I understand that the purpose of BTSC is to promote and foster youth soccer, providing competitive opportunities for youth players without discrimination based on race, sex, creed, religion, national origin, or ethnic group.
1.2. I agree that my child and I will abide by all state and local laws, as well as the rules and regulations of BTSC, Central Pennsylvania Youth Soccer League (CPYSL), and Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association (EPYSA). Information for by CPYSL and EPYSA, including rules and regulations, as well as rules of the game, can be found on those organizations’ webpages.
- Membership and Participation
2.1. I acknowledge that membership in BTSC includes all officers, coaches, and parents of registered players.
2.2. I will ensure timely payment of dues or assessments as prescribed by BTSC.
2.3. I will complete registration each season with accurate information for my child.
- Governance and Meetings
3.1. I understand that an annual membership meeting will be held each year for the election of the Executive Board and other important matters concerning BTSC.
3.2. I agree to attend or participate in special meetings called by the President or the Executive Board when necessary.
- Executive Board Responsibilities
4.1. I acknowledge that the Executive Board oversees the club's affiliation, team tryouts, fundraising activities, and other club affairs.
4.2. I understand that Executive Board meetings are held monthly, and I will stay informed about club activities and decisions.
- Coaches and Coaching Responsibilities
5.1. I recognize the critical role of coaches in ensuring the safety, development, and ethical conduct of players.
5.2. I support coaches in complying with all applicable laws, completing necessary clearances, and maintaining open communication with team members and parents/guardians.
5.3. I agree to uphold the BTSC Code of Conduct for players, parents, and coaches, promoting a positive and respectful environment.
5.4. I acknowledge that coaches may remove my child from games or practices for poor behavior, such as screaming obscenities, lack of sportsmanship, or lack of cooperation.
- Tryouts and Season Participation
6.1. I understand that players are required to participate in tryouts, usually held in the spring, for each season of play, which includes the fall and spring CPYSL soccer seasons.
- Financial Responsibilities
7.1. I understand that parents are responsible for any fines incurred by their child for infractions, misconduct, or other violations during league play or sanctioned events.
7.1.1 I understand that I may be required to leave the field for poor sportsmanship if instructed by the coach or referee. Parents will be responsible for any fines incurred for which they are the directly responsible when they themselves violate policies for behavior during games.
7.2. I will collaborate with coaches and BTSC leadership on team finances, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Amendments and Rules
8.1. I acknowledge that the BTSC Bylaws may be amended by majority vote at Executive Board meetings, with proper notice provided to members.
8.2. I agree that BTSC operates according to Robert’s Rules of Order for procedural matters not covered by the Bylaws.
- Social Media Guidelines
9.1. I will ensure that any use of social media related to BTSC protects player privacy and promotes positive club experiences, adhering to guidelines set by BTSC.
- Acknowledgement
10.1. By signing this agreement, I acknowledge that I have read and understood the BTSC Bylaws and agree to comply with all provisions therein.
